Inspiring Nigerian students to love and value education

Their voice may be faint but their pens are sharp now. This was the expression of students and pupils of St Paul国产视频檚 College (a mix of primary and secondary schools) at Kabba in Kogi, Nigeria, on January 29.

With a team of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members, we distributed writing materials, told them about the #UpforSchool campaign and educated them on the 国产视频渋mportance of education国产视频� and 国产视频渆ducation as a right国产视频�.

It国产视频檚 no news that most students and kids in schools like these attend classes with either insufficient books and writing materials or nothing 国产视频� because their parents cannot afford it or neglect its importance.

As a Global Youth Ambassador for A World at School, I briefed the students and pupils on the activities of AWAS, inspiring them to value and love education, citing our success and that of other global ambassadors.

The crux of the day was when students wanted their 国产视频淧en-full voices国产视频� heard and happily signed the #UpforSchool Petition on their blackboards.

My next passion is ProjectREAD, where I国产视频檓 building a team to build libraries for these schools, furnish them with relevant books, start book clubs and 国产视频渟tudents inspiring students国产视频� sessions and also speak out to make government invest more in education.
