A new fundraising drive is aimed at helping the world国产视频檚 poorest countries provide basic education for their children.

Key leaders of the Global Partnership for Education agreed to raise 拢3.5billion over four years to provide essential support.

The GPE, the world国产视频檚 only multilateral working to increase access to education, said there is now an opportunity to get 16 million children, most of them girls, into school.

聽Julia Gillard, chair of the GPE board, said: 国产视频湽悠禍A strong GPE replenishment is critical to seizing the momentum and keeping the progress in global education.

国产视频淒onor nations, developing country partners, civil society, teachers, multilateral organisations and the private sector alike must intensify their current commitments to ensure that the right to education becomes a reality for all children.国产视频

Each country that receives funding聽is encouraged to make its education system more efficient, effective and inclusive of girls.国产视频

The Global Citizen website is urging people to sign a GPE petition to world leaders.

The petition calls for increased financial spport for GPE and for governments to pledge at least 10% of their foreign aid budget to basic education 国产视频 the current level is less than 3% on average.
